Very nice first rendering. You *will* find it addicting.

Not quite up to this sort of quality though. Now that's a really nice rendering. Did you hand-sculpt the hills?

And, yes, it is getting to be addictive.

That particular render was done sometime last year. I simply generated a terrain and modified it until I got what I was looking for. If that's what you mean by hand-sculpt then, yeah, I did.

Looking forward to seeing more of your terragen images.

Thanks for the compliment. :)

Yeah, I meant using the sculpting tool in the terrain modification window. I'm finding that I can't really get the sort of detailed changes I'd like — probably doesn't help that I'm a little heavy handed with it.

Thanks for this. I played with it for a few minutes then plunked down the $99. It's awesome. I'd done landscape art like this in the past with Vista Pro via Virtual PC. It's so nice to have a Mac native replacement.

Maybe I'll post some of my first images with this. (they tend to lend towards sci-fi!)

Vista Pro! Thank-you!

When I downloaded Terragen the other day it reminded me of some software I played with on MS-DOS, must be 12 or so years ago now, that did something similar — the bid demo it came with was a rendering of Olympus Mons. I've been trying to remember the name of it for days now.

Finally, I can now find something else totally pointless to worry about. ;)
